Rakis is the kind of typeface that looks like someone grabbed a pair of scissors, a stack of paper, and decided to make letters without asking permission.
Its shapes are blunt. Its corners are stubborn. Its proportions don’t always behave. Some letters feel a little too wide, some a little too short, and the edges have the unmistakable rhythm of something cut by hand rather than perfected on a screen.
That’s where Rakis gets its character.
Built from simple shapes and straight cuts, Rakis treats imperfection as a design material. It has the innocence of a child making a paper collage, but the attitude of a typeface that knows exactly what it’s doing. The letters can sit neatly together—or bump into each other and make the composition a little stranger.
Rakis was made for big words, loud ideas, odd little messages, and layouts that would rather have character than behave.
Put it on a poster. Slap it on a package. Drop it into a headline. Cut it apart, rearrange it, make it oversized, let it collide.
