Kanna Aoki was designing fabrics and tableware for several major manufacturers when she designed the MVB Cafe Mimi font. The design was created from a few words painted by Aoki decoratively on a set of cappuccino cups. Aoki created the Normal style fat for MVB Fonts using a brush. Bold style has been adapted after digitization. By using multiple double-letter ligatures, fonts can appear as natural and spontaneous as the original hand-painted lettering. Despite its flourishes and flowing forms, great care has been taken to create this balanced and readable script. He hops along the baseline but does not lose his step.
