Sheet music published in the 1860s for “The Soldier’s Chorus” [from the Gounod opera “Faust”] had the title and the arranger’s name hand lettered in a bold, condensed chamfer font.
This was the basis for Condensed Chamfer JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.
