Abril Titling Font Family is an extension of the Abril type system that was designed to meet a very specific demand from the publishing community: a low-contrast typeface for heading lines. Given its wide range of styles, however, Abril deserves to be considered as a separate font family. Based on the original Abril text styles, the letterforms are robust, highly legible, and convey a sense of novelty and confidence. The strong editorial style of Scotch Roman is continued in this new typeface family, but some details have been smoothed out to improve headline performance, both in print and on screen. The family is designed as four series of different widths, with four weights in each series plus corresponding italics, for a total of 32 fonts. This wide range of styles allows headlines of almost any size. The wider series are intended for smaller point sizes, while the condensed weights can give a striking and consistent look to cover titles. Abril was designed as a versatile tool for graphic and web designers looking for a high-impact work tool. It is also a great companion to the rest of the Abril typeface family: Abril Titling and Abril Narrow.
